Our MissionKSRA Radio is the voice of the Salmon River Country; it’s businesses, friends and neighbors. Keeping all of us informed on local issues and events while providing entertaining programming now and in the future. Public Service and Community Promotion through involvement is KSRA’s mission.
Dale and Renee Smith purchased the station in the fall of 1969. Dale was an Eastern Idaho broadcaster for years and made the move to ownership at KSRA. Dale was very active in the community serving on the city council and was influential in many area improvements such as the city park. Dale expanded KSRA form an am only station to include fm 92.7 in 1979. Dale announced area ball games, was president of the PTO and Rotary and President of the Idaho Broadcasters Association. Dale was a big part of this community and worked hard at improving the station up until his death in 1986. His wife Renee then took over the helm at KSRA and continued this stations commitment to the Salmon River Country with among other things the addition of Challis Translator K232CL 94.3 fm. Local news, weather and sports are the agenda at KSRA, where else can you turn to find your lost dog or find out who’s been released from the hospital, and where that pesky ice jam is. Renee sold KSRA in the summer of 2000. Current owners James and Cindy Hone purchased the station in 2000 and have continued this stations commitment to the area. The Hones have modernized the station in many ways and have big plans for KSRA in the near and distant future. Jim is an Eastern Idaho Businessman and Cindy is from Salmon and is the daughter of Ray and Vera Infanger. Contact InformationTelephone
